Hupfeld Claviola By Scheel
This stunning pianola dates from around 1910 and is the most amazing instrument of it’s type ever seen. Made in Germany and tied to the Ronisch factory this one has been restored some years back and is simply amazing in every way. The exterior is Burl Walnut, the mechanics are truly revolutionary, the keyboard is original ivory in perfect condition. The pianola mechanism plays beautifully with after 100 years due to the metal tubing as opposed to rubber used by the American builders of similar instruments. This is a true antique in every sense of the word. Originally sold new by Allan’s Music in Australia and clearly has had maybe one family owner given its condition. Very little is known about this non-mass produced instrument despite a search of museums world-wide so a very unusual piece.
Seeing is believing how such an instrument has survived all these years and is still in top condition. For the serious collector or someone who appreciates antique art this is a must to view. I can arrange a video for any serious buyer and happy to answer relevant questions.
I served my apprenticeship in the 60’s to include pianolas and I have seen dozens over the years. I have never seen anything like this gorgeous instrument.
