In a career spanning over 55 years in the music industry there is little I cannot repair and recondition along with my enthusiasm for all things musical both modern and vintage. I am often called up to advise on and restore all types of instruments working with both the public and music businesses nationwide.
Following my qualifications as a Government Registered Piano Tuner/Technician, I went on to study general musical instrument repair concentrating on stringed instruments and brass. In the 60’s there was just a handful of qualified luthiers/builders and I soon carved out a reputation for being the “go to” person across New Zealand for all those “difficult jobs” only a few others could manage.
Today I am still called upon for my “old-school” expertise in solving problems often after someone else has given it a try. I’m immensely proud of this skill and now in my 70’s no sign of slowing down.
